About Me

My name is Heather Sparkles, and I’m an American artist living and creating in Sweden.
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest of Washington State, I’ve always been drawn to the magical, the mysterious, and the imaginative. Even as a child, I sensed an overlap between the world we perceive around us and the inner worlds we carry within—worlds filled with dreams, fears, fantasies, and wonder.
Art became my refuge, a way to give form to the things I experienced within my own soul. Encouraged by my family, I continued to develop my creativity. Every holiday and celebration became an opportunity to make something personal for someone I loved. I would imagine their “happy places” and create artwork inspired by what I felt would resonate with them.
There’s something powerful about receiving a piece of art created especially for you. Seeing the recognition on someone’s face when they encounter something that reflects a part of their own inner world has always stayed with me. Those moments fueled my desire to create art that connects with people on a deeper level.
Today, I work across a variety of mediums, creating original paintings, custom murals, portraits, and whimsical handmade creations. I love transmuting ideas into tangible forms, transforming blank spaces into magical portals, and creating artwork that reflects the hidden places within ourselves. My hope is that my work offers a sense of wonder, connection, and belonging—a reminder that perhaps we’re not quite so out of place in this world after all.
Over the years, I've had the opportunity to bring my imagination to life through collaborated commissioned paintings, large-scale murals, and original works collected by people around the world.
In 2024, my family and I uprooted our lives in the United States and moved to Sweden. Drawn to the Nordic way of life, we wanted to raise our young children in an environment that reflected our values and the kind of childhood we hoped to give them.
After stepping away from painting to focus on our family’s transition and finding our place in a new country, I’m now returning to my creative practice with renewed curiosity and inspiration. I’m excited to explore new ideas, discover unexpected opportunities, and continue sharing my imagination with the world.
